Vocabulary Sheet

Homework Policy

No late homework will be accepted.

All homework must be submitted at the beginning of the class period when homework is collected.

Homework must be brought into class in your binder. Do not leave your homework in your locker or in your bag.

Homework must be submitted on the worksheet given to you. Do not copy your homework on a notebook paper instead of the worksheet. If you lose your vocabulary worksheet you can print the one supplied below:

All journals must be submitted at the beginning of class. Journals must be typed and printed. If you do not have a printer, do not wait until the day the journal is due to write it. Write your journal a day earlier and print it at school or at any other location. If you have a friend with a printer, send it to them in order to print it.

Journal (Of Plymouth Plantation)

"Write a journal taking a position on whether you feel that William Bradford's account of the Pilgrims experience is realistic and truthful or biased and exaggerated." Make sure to have a clear opinion with a clear thesis statement.

Journals must be typed in proper MLA format and contain five vocabulary words from the list below. All journals must be at least three paragraphs (Introduction, Body, and Conclusion) and no more than 300 words.

Material Needed



Portfolios must be brought to class everyday along with The Interactive Reader Plus or current Novel. Your portfolio must be divided into the following sections:


1. Warm-ups

2. Notes

3. Handouts

4. Journal

5. Quizzes and Tests




Proper Journal Format



 Everyone's journal/essay should look like this from a distance. 

Your name, the date, class, and word count must be in the top left corner.

Go to Line Spacing Options

Choose Double under Spacing Options.

Indent Paragraph: Choose First Line by 0.5" under Special.

Make sure to center your Title. Do not make it fancy. Do not underline. Do not make it bold. Don't do anything special!
 Your Journals and Essays must be in Times New Roman and 12pt font. Every single word must be Times New Roman 12pt. Nothing different!
